Dr. Mehregan Edalatkhah – Architect

Member of the Berlin Chamber of Architects
PhD – Sapienza University of Rome

I offer the full range of architectural services, following all nine phases defined by the German HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) from initial consultation and feasibility studies, through design, site supervision, and complete project realization.

My work spans architecture, interior design, urban planning, and landscape.
From the smallest intervention to the most complex project, each assignment is an opportunity to give form to an idea, enhance quality of life, and create spaces that meet regulations while also carrying meaning, beauty, and durability over time.

My Journey in Architecture

My love for architecture began early—almost by osmosis.
As a child, I spent my afternoons in my father’s studio, surrounded by sketches, drawings, and models. My father had studied and worked in Italy for many years, and perhaps I inherited that special connection from him.

Despite that early pull, I am deeply grateful to have spent the first twenty years of my life in Iran—a place full of contrasts and harmonies, where culture reveals itself in colors, architecture, sounds, and silences.
A place where the sun shines fiercely, and shadows have their own meaning.
Where hidden paradises are tucked into urban corners, waiting to be discovered.
There, I learned to observe and understand the delicate relationship between people, nature, buildings, and climate—a key that continues to guide my approach to design today.

After studying architecture in Tehran, I moved to Italy: first to Venice to continue my studies in Architectural Sciences, then to Rome, where I completed a Master’s in Architectural and Urban Design, followed by a PhD in Landscape and Environment.
An Erasmus exchange in Andalusia, a few months spent in England, and my move to Germany for work have all enriched my perspective—both personally and professionally.

Professional Experience

– In Italy, I worked on the design and renovation of schools, villas, interiors, and spaces for children. These were more intimate-scale projects, where detail and dialogue with the context were essential.
– In Germany, I contributed to large-scale projects such as railway stations, libraries, office buildings, and entire residential neighborhoods. In these settings, technical precision, sustainable planning, and construction efficiency come together to form solutions that are solid, well-organized, and built to last.

My Approach

I’ve never set limits on the size or subject of a project.
Designing a small bathroom can be just as meaningful as an entire urban complex—if approached with the same dedication and care.

Over the years, my method has become increasingly international, interdisciplinary, and adaptable – thanks to the variety of roles I’ve held, the four languages I speak, the cultural contexts I’ve experienced, and a sense of patience that has grown alongside my experience.

My Vision of Architecture

I truly believe architecture can improve our daily lives.
The spaces we inhabit have the power to support our well-being – and we all deserve that.

For me, architecture is a universal language.
It is the art of weaving together dreams and rules, geography and climate, beauty and function – to create places that endure in time, memory, and the lives of those who live in them.

It would be my honor to accompany you on this beautiful journey.
